Dover Man Arrested for Dealing in Child Pornography
Dover – Attorney General Beau Biden announced today that the Delaware Child Predator Task Force has arrested a Dover man following an investigation of the online distribution of child pornography.
Today, Thursday, May 24, members of the Task Force along with a Delaware State Police Trooper from Troop #3 executed a search warrant at a residence located in the 1900 block of Mitten Street in Dover. The location of the warrant was referred to the Task Force by the Pennsylvania Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force which, during an online undercover investigation of the distribution of child pornography, identified an internet user engaged in illegal activity who they later learned was located in Delaware. Child Predator Task Force personnel searched the residence and conducted interviews. As a result of the on-scene investigation, a person of interest was developed and taken to Delaware State Police Troop #3 for further investigation. In addition, an initial forensic preview of a laptop computer and other digital media seized from the residence revealed numerous images of child pornography.
As a result of the investigation, detectives arrested Tyler M. Hroncich, age 21, a resident of the Mitten Street address. Hroncich was charged with 25 counts of dealing in child pornography. He was arraigned by video phone at Justice of the Peace Court #2 and was ordered committed to James T. Vaughn Correctional Center in lieu $250,000 secured bail, where he remains held.
“We’re working with our law enforcement partners from across the county to find those who are victimizing kids, track them down, and take them off the streets,” Attorney General Biden said.
The investigation by the Child Predator Task Force is ongoing.
