DELAWARE ATTORNEY GENERAL

OPPORTUNITIES FOR STUDENTS

Opportunities for Community Service for Top Students

The School Diversion Program (SODAT branch) is looking for High School aged students to participate on its panels. Students will undergo training by the School Diversion Program. Thereafter, they will participate on a panel that will meet with younger students who have been assigned to the program by Court. The student panel will follow guidelines to assign tasks to the young offenders. This is a great opportunity for well-behaved and high achieving students to become involved in the criminal justice system, and to obtain community service hours for their college applications. For more information, contact Kristen Blanchard at kblanchard@sodatdelaware.com, or at Alternative Court for Teens, 625 North Orange Street, Wilmington, DE 19801, (302)656-4044. Ms. Blanchard prefers to be contacted by e-mail.

Need Community Service Performed at Your School?

Students who are arrested and convicted of misdemeanors often are assigned to the Back on Track Program which requires some community service. If you are willing to have such students come to your school to perform community service, please contact Diane Dennison at ddennison@ymcade.org to arrange the specifics.
