Appeals Division - The Appeals Division handles criminal appeals in both state and federal courts. The Division represents the State in appeals of capital cases and the provision of guidance to this Department regarding complex legal issues and provides guidance.

Under the direction of a senior Deputy Attorney General, this division handles:

• appeals of criminal convictions in the federal and state court systems

• prisoner litigation

• legal advice to extradition detectives and trial attorneys
