Wilmington, DE – Following an investigation by the Delaware Department of Justice, Special Investigations Unit, Maureen A. Stewart, 38, of Summit Bridge Road, Townsend was arrested today after she turned herself in to the Delaware Department of Justice.

Stewart faces charges of Felony Theft, Official Misconduct and Falsifying Business Records stemming from her employment as the Town Clerk and Financial Officer of Townsend, Delaware from 2003-2006.

Following processing at the Delaware Department of Justice, Stewart was arraigned before Justice of the Peace Court #20. She was released on $30,000.00 bail.
