COBIN APPOINTED CHIEF DEPUTY ATTORNEY GENERAL
(Wilmington, DE): Attorney General Carl C. Danberg is pleased to announce the appointment of Malcolm S. Cobin of Wilmington as his Chief Deputy Attorney General. Malcolm is a distinguished and respected member of the Delaware Bar and a leader in the Attorney Generals office. Malcolms promotion to Chief Deputy has been earned with many years of hard work and dedicated service.
Mr. Cobin is a native of Wilmington and a graduate of the Wilmington Friends School. He received his B.A. degree from Ohio Wesleyan University and his J.D. degree from the National Law Center at George Washington University. He was admitted to the Delaware Bar in 1975. Mr. Cobin has been an attorney in the Civil Division of the Attorney Generals Office for 31 years, representing the State and its agencies in both litigation and non litigation matters. In addition to being a Deputy Attorney General, he has held the positions of Assistant State Solicitor, and for the last four years, the position of State Solicitor.
In 1991 Mr. Cobin was awarded the Deputy Attorney General of the Year Award by Attorney General Charles M. Oberly III and in 1996 he was awarded the Distinguished Service Award by Attorney General M. Jane Brady. In 1999 he received the Delaware Award for Excellence and Commitment in State Service from Governor Thomas R.Carper.
Mr. Cobin and his wife, Susan, have two daughters.
