CONVICTIONS IN TWO WILMINGTON ROBBERY CASES

(Wilmington, DE): Attorney General M. Jane Brady announced that a New Castle County jury today found a north Wilmington man guilty of two counts of Attempted Robbery 2nd degree following a two day trial.

Paul F. O’Donnell was convicted for attempting to rob downtown workers in separate incidents on January 6th and January 10th of this year in the vicinity of the 500 block of Delaware Ave. as the women walked to their cars at the end of the workday. O’Donnell will be sentenced by Judge Jan R. Jurden on July 11th. He is facing up to 10 years in prison.

One of the victims, who did not wish to be publicly identified, commented that she was “glad the system took this case seriously.” She went on to say, “I was so pleased with the outcome. The Prosecutors and the Wilmington Police Department detectives helped me believe in the system.”

Attorney General Brady stated, “We take these crimes very seriously. The City of Wilmington has worked hard to enhance public safety. I want citizens who live and work in Wilmington to know that these and other cases will be aggressively pursued by my office.”
