(Wilmington, DE): The Magna Carta in Philadelphia Committee has invited Attorney General Jane Brady to participate in activities for the opening of the Philadelphia Magna Carta Exhibit on Wednesday, July 3rd. The Rt. Hon. Lord Goldsmith, Her Majesty's Attorney General, will address a luncheon gathering at noon at the Downtown Club, Public Ledger Building, 6th and Chestnut Streets, Philadelphia. Lord Goldsmith will discuss the "Common Roots of our Common Law". His address follows the opening ceremony of the Magna Carta exhibit at 10 a.m. at the Independence Visitor's Center, 6th and Market Streets, Philadelphia.
After Lord Goldsmith's address, Attorney General Brady will participate with attorneys, law professors, members of the Federal Judiciary, the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and the Philadelphia District Attorney in a private roundtable discussion with Lord Goldsmith about the challenges of balancing due process rights and responding to terrorism.
