A.G.'S OFFICE TO SPONSOR FREE INVESTMENT SEMINARS
Top Professionals to address Delaware Investors
(Wilmington, DE): Attorney General M. Jane Brady invites the public to free "Delaware Investment Education Conferences" at three locations throughout the state this spring. For the fifth consecutive year, the Securities Division in the Attorney General's office will host these informational sessions for Delaware investors.
The sessions in Dover, on Wednesday, April 24th at the Modern Maturity Center at 1121 Forest Ave. and in Georgetown on Thursday, May 2nd at Sussex Central High School, 301 West Market St., will run from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Six sessions will be offered including: Investing Basics; Retirement Planning; and Understanding Debt and Credit. Featured speakers will be Dominick D'Eramo from the Association of Investment Management and Research, Attorney General M. Jane Brady, Delaware Securities Commissioner James Ropp, and Ron Long, the District Administrator for the Securities and Exchange Commission. Refreshments will be served.
On Saturday, May 4th, at the University of Delaware - Clayton Hall, the final Investment Education Conference will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Ric Edelman, author of the best sellers, The Truth About Money, Ordinary People, Extraordinary Wealth and The New Rules of Money will be the featured speaker. The lunchtime keynote address will be given by Charles Elson, the Director of the University's Center for Corporate Governance. Attorney General Brady, Commissioner Ropp and Administrator Long will also address the group. Ten small group sessions will be available to choose from, including Mutual Funds, Deferred Compensation and How to Enron-proof Your Portfolio, in addition to the topics offered at the Dover and Georgetown sites. Lunch will be provided.
These conferences are paid for through the Delaware Investor Protection Fund, which consists of fines and penalties assessed against violators of the Delaware Securities Act. Seating is limited. Please call (302) 577-8930 to make reservations.
