DELAWARE A.G.'S OFFICE FIELDING CALLS ABOUT AMERICAN APPLIANCE

(Wilmington, DE) -- The sudden closure of American Appliance stores in the region on Tuesday, including two locations in Delaware, prompted the following statement from Olha Rybakoff, Chief of the Consumer Protection Unit in Attorney General M. Jane Brady's office:

"It is our understanding that American Appliance will be contacting consumers who are waiting for delivery of products they have already purchased. However, any consumers in Delaware who aren't able to successfully resolve pending delivery issues, warranty issues, or who have other questions, should contact this office at 1-800-220-5424 or (302) 577-8600.

Our investigators have already been to both Delaware locations and we have already begun receiving calls from citizens concerned about delivery of their purchases. Our office continues to monitor developments and has been in contact with counsel for American Appliance."
